This is just a guide but we encourage you to explore other ways of using the book to match your students' needs. We look forward to your feedback.

Step 1

● Only make questions

● Only use "What", "Where" & "When"

● Only use “you” in the boxes

● Do not use the Extending Patterns until the Basic Patterns are memorized

● Have the students write at least 5 questions (Japanese & English) in their notebooks for homework

Step 2

● Introduce the Extended Patterns/Extending a Sentence Maker

● Introduce the Quick Statement Maker/Quick Answer Maker (Negative) but only as a reference to answer the questions

● Have the students write the answers to the questions assigned for homework the week prior

● The students must read the questions out loud before writing the answers

● Have the students turn to page 46, the teacher will then read the questions from student A's notebook (do not show the students the answers)   Student A will then translate it into Japanese so Student B can fully understand the meaning before answering

Step 3

● Have the students read the questions they wrote instead of the teacher

Step 4

● Introduce the rest of the interogative words; Why, Who, How, Which & Whose

● Have the students make sentences in class without looking at anything for assistance

Step 5

● Have the students make statements for their homework

● Introduce I, We, They, Names, He, She, Name, The... & Who

Step 6

● Go back to making sentences but this time using I, We, They, Names, He, She, Name, The...

● Always review what was learned in prior steps

Step 7

● Once Step 6 is mastered return to making statements
